Meet Andrea Bischoff

Building off of the positive.

With over 15+ years of experience in Human Resources and Project & Change Management in a wide range of corporate industries, it is exciting to offer consulting services to businesses to optimize performance.

In early 2020 I had my dream job, and then I received the news about restructuring in the company, which resulted in being laid off.

I was not prepared, nor could I have ever planned or predicted this situation or the possibilities it could bring.

Everything about the layoff felt premature; it felt strange and equally gut-wrenching. While processing my work situation, I focused and reflected on my individual strengths and experiences to work through all of my emotions.

Using Gallup’s strengths-assessment I discovered my top 10 natural strengths; Maximizer, Arranger, Individualization, Significance, Harmony, Futuristic, Adaptability, Empathy, Relater and Positivity. Six of the ten are in the relationship-building theme, meaning I am designed to build strong relationships that hold teams together.

Armed with these insights I was able to connect the dots and redefine what success looked like for me!

I founded Positive Affect Consulting, as a niche offering for individuals and businesses to leverage people’s unique strengths to increase awareness of change, momentum and transition. I believe successful improvements start with people, processes, and a purpose.

I help people break down and understand individual strengths and how that affects and impacts them and the teams they are on.

My Top 5 Strengths I employ when working alongside teams :

  • I focus on quality, and prefer working with and for the best. By seeing what each person naturally does best and empowering them to do it, I make individuals, teams and groups better.

  • I have a natural ability to coordinate people and resources for maximum effectiveness. My creative flexibility in complex situations leads to greater efficiency.

  • I notice and appreciate each person’s unique characteristics, and don’t treat everyone the same. Because I can see what makes each individual unique, I know how to bring out their best.

  • I desire to do important work and am determined to make a difference. I want others' respect for my significant contribution and willingness to work hard to achieve success.

  • I am naturally practical and prefer emotional balance. I can prevent arguments before they start by quickly helping others find common ground and a resolution.
